Thailand The Land of White Elephants

Hello guys,this week I would like to talk about Thailand. Before we go deep into Thailand i want to share with you a little bit history of Thailand.

THAILAND
Thailand is located in southeastern Asia,bordering the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand,southeast of Burma. Their capital country is Bangkok. Thailand also known as Siam around the Asia. Their population 64,865,532 and have a lot religions such as Buddhism (95%),Muslim (4.6%),Christianity (0.7%),Hinduism and others.







LANGUAGES IN THAILAND

Thai people speaks a lot of languages such as chinese, lao, malay ,mon-khmer and of course they speak in Thailand. Mostly people in South Thailand speak in Malay-Thai because they were closed to one of our state which is in Kelantan and Kelantan people likes to go there having their 'Pulut Mangga'.

Tom yam Gung

Tom yum is a spicy sour soup 'Tom' means boiling process while 'Yam" refer to a kind of Lao and Thai spicy and sour salad. Tom Yam are very famous in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, and many mores. Now Tom Yam has been popularized around the world.




Mango Sticky Rice ('Pulut Mangga')

If you are a fan of mango sticky rice,Thailand is the right place to try out.In Thailand mango sticky rice is known as 'Khao Neow Ma-Muang' and among the most popular Thai desserts to eat in and outside of Thailand. In Bangkok, you will find mango sticky rice all over during mango season and it easy to find.




Cha Yen (Thai Iced Tea)

Cha Yen is one of the most traditional drinks of Thailand. This drink are sweet not suitable for diabetes patient.For the people who unlike sweet drinks or food you can try a drink that taste like cha yen but without sugar.




Nam Manao
'Nam" means water, while 'manao' means lime in Thai. This Thai limeade is served through out Thailand. This drink generally accompanied with Thai curry and go very well with spicy food. This drink you can find it at street vendor in Thailand and it's look like Malaysia 'Limau Ais'.



THAILAND TRADITIONAL CLOTH

This dress is a royal design in a 2 piece style with separate Sabi. It is almost strictly worn for weeding or for formal ceramony.









THAILAND CELEBRATIONS DAY

LOY KRATONG

This celebration will be held after rainy season. On the day full moon between October to November . On that day Thai people will discarding the boat that made up from banana leaves and be decorated with 'Bunga Gaharu' and candle. There's have a lot of opinion besides this celebration connected to the religion or not. But some of them thought that this celebration is to ask forgiveness from the God of Water that cause of flooding to Thailand.




SONGKRAN (NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS)

It is usually celebrate on the 13th April the hottest day of the year. This celebration will be doing massacred parade to the 'wat-wat'. Other than that, they will splash the water to one another as a lucky sign for the new year. Many people will clean up the buddha statues and clean up around the house as the sign that they will start a new life. They also pay tribute to the ashes or bones of relatives who have died a long time ago.This celebration came from one of the fairy tale stories.It is about God Brahman felt jealous towards this one guy when he knows that this guy can speak in bird language and he wants to kill him. God Brahma gave him 3 riddle to be answered with one condition, if that guy can answered all of them correctly God Brahma  head will beheaded. Otherwise if he cannot answered correctly hid head will beheaded. That guy doesn't know the answer and he go to the woods to kill himself but he heard the answer from an eagle and his answer was right. Brahma head beheaded and because of that the head became very hot and will bring the perish to the earth. Brahma daughter will take turn to bring his head go out once a year and that day is the hottest day.





THAILAND TRADITIONAL GAMES

HOPSCOTCH

Hopscotch game are similar to Malaysia traditional game which are mostly they called them 'teng-teng'. It is still popular game among the kindergarten and first grade children. Strictly game for girls only. The equipment for each player is a chip about one to two inches in diameter and usually the ground will marked off into number squares. This one of the most universal children game. 





SNAKES

In 'snakes bite tail game' or 'Ngu Kin Hang', there are two teams which are a mother snake (including her babies) and a father snakes one man team. Mother and father snakes are engaged in a preliminary dialogue. This game also similar to Malaysia traditional game but they play with many people but one people will resemble as wolf and one people will resemble as mother chicken and others will be hide behind the mother chicken to make sure they will not get caught by the wolves.



CONCLUSION

Thailand is a country that you must put in you bucket list if you visit Southeast Asia. Thailand also has the right blend for backpackers and when you go to Thailand Cha Tu Chak market is a must place to go!!
